Description

1. the real hair version has a stronger effect on the horse's neck. The hair is deliberately braided so that the horse gives way (neck reining) when a rein is applied. It is therefore traditionally ridden with gloves only. The nylon version is softer and can replace version 1 as soon as the horse has been trained accordingly. The nylon mecate is also used for other purposes (e.g. as a long rope lunge etc.). The nylon mecate has a decorative tassel made of hair with rawhide decoration on one end and a leather rattle on the other. No fear of knots! We supply both versions with detailed instructions! How to attach a mecate to a bosal Here are the instructions for the mecate knot. Not only Western riders recognise the positive effect of the Bosal-Mecate bridle on the horse: Jürgen Krackow, an advanced class show jumper, uses the Bosal and is so convinced of its horse-friendly effect that he exchanged his German passport for an Austrian one in order to be allowed to compete bitless with Bosal and Mecate.
